The tales you’ve heard once upon a time… like you’ve never heard them before.
In the new series In compagnia del lupo. Il cuore nero delle fiabe, Carlo Lucarelli dives into the world of fables to discover that inside them, in the lives of their authors, in the facts that inspired them, in the culture of the times in which they were written, unexpected implications are hidden, sometimes scary, sometimes adventurous, always astonishing.
In compagnia del lupo guides the viewers through a world they thought they knew and, by unveiling all the unknown aspects of the stories they’ve grown up with, immerses them in a magical and disquieting atmosphere, ultimately leading them to realize that, no, maybe the wolf wasn’t the bad guy after all.
As kids, it’s difficult to imagine that fables could conceal something far more scary and sinister than wolves, orcs and witches. Instead, there it is, even if hidden: reality.
Shot on location at the Anatomical Theatre of Palazzo Bo, in Padua and at Valli Theatre in Reggio Emilia, the series will revisit the stories of Red Riding Hood, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and his Little Prince, Beauty and the Beast, Bluebeard, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Peter Pan and Hansel and Gretel.
Each episode will feature a different special guest and will be enriched by multiple animated segments designed to heighten the magical atmosphere of the story being told.
